Lidl has today announced the appointment of Ivan Ryan to the role of chief customer officer for Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The newly established position on Lidl’s board of directors will see Ivan Ryan lead all customer-focused aspects of Lidl’s business moving forward.
Ivan Ryan takes on the new role having held the position of regional managing director for Lidl Northern Ireland since August 2023.
Since joining Lidl in 2007, Ivan Ryan has worked across many aspects of the business, both locally and internationally.
He has held senior positions within HR, operations, finance and IR for both Lidl Ireland and Lidl Northern Ireland.

The chief customer officer role will encompass multiple areas of the business, focusing on customer touchpoints such as marketing, customer insights, loyalty programmes and overall end-to-end customer experience.

On his own appointment to the new role, Ivan Ryan said, “I am looking forward to taking on the new role of chief customer officer and support our ambitious growth strategy that will create opportunities for us to engage our customers across a number of channels.
“We are already fully focused on delivering for our customers and this new role will help to align our activities and ensure the interests of the customer are at the heart of every decision we make as a business.”
Originally from Laois, Ivan Ryan currently resides in Portlaoise with his wife Marina and daughters Sophie and Holly.
He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in accounting from the Technological University of the Shannon, as well as a diploma in employment law from Technological University Dublin.
