Lidl Ireland has revealed its chocolate eggs for the Easter holiday. It expects to sell 2.5 million Easter eggs, as shoppers opt for lower prices.
The discount retailer is offering a range of luxury eggs under the Deluxe brand.
Cavan-based Áine’s Handmade Chocolate has made all the eggs. The chocolatier has been a supplier to the store for four years.
It also supplies Lidl with seasonal chocolates throughout the year.
Eggs On Offer
The main offering this year is the Deluxe Premium Giant Easter Egg (€12.99). The chocolate egg weighs 500g and comes packed in springtime pastels.
The egg is supersized, and it is sure to take centre stage after the egg hunt. It is perfect for sharing with the whole family.
For something a little more modest, Lidl also has a range of large and medium-sized eggs.
There is a mix of familiar favourites and new flavour options, starting from €4.99.
The Deluxe Irish Dark Chocolate Easter Egg with Milk Chocolate Truffles (€9.99) is the perfect option for hardcore chocoholics.
For a savoury twist, the Deluxe Milk Chocolate Easter Egg with Salted Caramel Chocolates (€9.99) gives a hint of salt.
If you prefer a nuttier chocolate, the Deluxe White Chocolate Easter Egg with Hazelnut Pralines (€9.99) is the perfect solution.
For something a bit different, the Deluxe brand also offers white chocolate with strawberry marshmallow mess, honeycomb, raspberry, mint, or caramelised almond.
‘Excited To Expand Our Range’
Rebecca Buchanan, senior buyer at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, expressed her excitement in the run-up to Easter.
Buchanan said, “With more than two million Easter eggs sold across our network of Irish stores last year, we’re predicting shoppers will take an even bigger bite this year from our expanded range of premier Deluxe 100% Irish eggs.
“We’re excited to expand our range this year with some great new flavours and sizes, which we’re sure will go down a treat.”
She added, “With Easter just around the corner, we’re delighted to roll out our sumptuous full range of chocolate eggs in store from this week.”
