Lidl Ireland has announced that it will open the doors of its brand-new store in Newcastle, Co. Dublin, on Thursday 22 August.
LGFA star and Dublin captain Carla Rowe will officially cut the ribbon on the significant new development.
Located on Main Street Upper in Newcastle, the opening of the new store represents a significant retail boost for the local area.
The Newcastle store has also created 30 new permanent jobs for the local area, and brings the retailer’s store count to 52 within County Dublin.
Construction commenced on the site in January and supported more than 40 jobs during the building phase.
The Store
The new Lidl store boasts a big sales floor with wide aisles, two Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) machines, long tills, customer restrooms and baby-changing facilities, as well as an in-store bakery and off-licence.
Outside, there is a spacious customer car park with dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging spaces and regenerative landscaping.
The Newcastle store will also incorporate a range of sustainability features, including a certified energy management system, high-performing energy-efficient technologies, and the installation of solar panels.
The doors are due to open on the new premises at 8am on 22 August, so early-bird shoppers can get the chance to meet LGFA star Rowe and enjoy special in-store entertainment, as well as opening-day offers.
