Lidl Ireland's Enfield Co Meath Store Officially Opens

Lidl Ireland officially opened its seventh Meath supermarket this morning with its new Enfield store.

Meath Ladies Gaelic Football (LGFA) Players Aoibhín Cleary and Kerrie Cole were on site to officially cut the ribbon and welcome customers through the doors.

Crowds gathered early hoping to be the first in the door to see the state-of-the-art store and sample local produce from Longford’s Panelto Foods and Cavan’s Liffey Meats, as well as availing of exclusive opening-day offers.

The first ten shoppers through the doors this morning received complimentary vouchers for the new Lidl.

To mark the opening, the Enfield store team welcomed Fiona Murtagh, Yard Manager from local charity My Lovely Horse to accept a donation of €1,000 in Lidl vouchers.

The volunteer-led charity rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, neglected or abused equines, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs, cats and other animals.

Since opening its first store in Trim in 2004, Lidl has been a pillar of the Meath community, having expanded its presence with stores across Ashbourne, Bettystown, Clonee, Trim, Dunshaughlin, Navan and now Enfield.

The new store has created 20 new permanent jobs for the area, as well as supporting 80 temporary jobs during construction and development.

The 1,400 square metre development incorporates LED lighting and heat pumps, as well as PV solar panels to aid in reducing carbon emissions, highlighting the retailer's commitment to sustainability.

Customers can also enjoy a great shopping experience thanks to a spacious shop floor, wide aisles, long tills, restrooms and baby-changing facilities as well as an in-store bakery and redeveloped parking and landscaping.
