Lidl Ireland has won 26 awards at this year’s Great Taste Awards, held earlier this week in London, including 19 awards for products sourced exclusively from Irish suppliers, such as Kilderg Organic Honey and Glensallagh Smoked Streaky Bacon.
In total, 23 products took home one Gold Star, whilst two Gold Stars went to Inisvale Hereford Cheddar and Onion Beef Burgers, Comte de Brismand Champagne and Melangerie Ethiopian Premium Roasted Ground Coffee. Commenting on the retailer's performance Jasmine O’Brien, Lidl, said: "As one of the most prestigious award schemes in Ireland and the UK, recognition of our products at this level is a clear indication of the emphasis our local buying team places on sourcing and producing the highest quality products at great value prices.”

This autumn, Lidl is launching a new series, 'The Taste Of Success', with RTE, which will see members of the public and local producers compete to get their food product on the shelves of Lidl's 141 stores around Ireland.
