Londis retailers have announced that it has teamed up with Pieta House to ensure those taking part in this year's Darkness into Light 5km walk are 'kept hydrated' and will be providing water at 115 venues around Ireland.
This year's walk will take place this Saturday, 11 May, in over 150 locations and across five continents, all raising money for suicide prevention.
Marie Peelo, deputy director of funding and advocacy at Pieta House, gratefully accepted the water provided by Londis retailers Seamus Griffin, Griffin’s Londis Group; Barry Gillen, Londis Dublin Road; Trim, Jonathan Gillan; Londis, Phoenix Park Racecourse, Castleknock and Londis sales Director, Conor Hayes recently.
Raised Over €20 Million
Darkness into Light began in 2009 in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and has ran every year since, raising over €20 million for Pieta House.
Each year the annual charity walk provides an opportunity for people to connect with their local community and show their support for those who have been bereaved by suicide.
Londis has worked with Pieta House for several years raising funds through a variety of events for their official charity partner.
