Londis has confirmed that it will reprise its sponsorship of Tastes Like Home with TV and Ballyknocken House chef Catherine Fulvio for a third season when the television show returns to RTÉ One later this year.
In a statement the retailer explained that as part of the show Catherine Fulvio visits six families from around Ireland who show her how to make their favourite Tastes Like Home dishes, before she jets off to locations around the world to recreate the dishes with their friends and family living abroad.
"One of my favourite aspects to the show is the chance to witness first-hand the connection people have with the food they grew up with and the emotions stirred with the fond memories it evoked,” Fulvio said.
“A familiar smell, a voice, a taste – it can throw you right back to sitting in your mother’s kitchen and for people living abroad, the emotion is even stronger because they have that physical distance from home.”
Quality and Local Produce
Last year, Tastes Like Home followed Irish families from South Korea to Cape Town and Mexico and Johannesburg, and featured dishes such as seafood platter of smoked scallops and lobster as well as Irish nettle and leek soup.
Commenting on the partnership, Conor Hayes, Londis sales director said: “Much like Londis, Catherine values quality, local produce and bringing fresh contemporary ideas to the table, so it’s a perfect match for us to partner with.”
Tastes Like Home with Catherine Fulvio, sponsored by Londis, will air six new episodes on RTE in the Autumn.
