Irish chicken producer Manor Farm has been awarded Repak Member of the Year at the Repak Recycling Awards in Croke Park Stadium, which took place this month.
The award recognises the company’s best practise in waste management and their participation in the overall Repak scheme.
Manor Farm also won the Repak’s Best Packaging Prevention Initiative Award, sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Vincent Carton, Managing Director of Manor Farm commented, “As a business, Manor Farm is constantly looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint.
“We’re firmly committed to reducing the amount of packaging we use across our range of chicken, and our quality team has been working tirelessly with retailers to achieve this goal.”
The Repak Packaging Prevention Award recognised Manor Farm’s reduced and more efficient use of packaging, including film wrap and trays, as well as the company’s re-usage of crates and wooden pallets in their system.
