Maxol has acquired Limerick’s largest service station, the family-run Chawkes Service Station in Castletroy.
Maxol stated that it is delighted to see the longstanding and established business join its expanding network of service stations.
Tom Noonan, CEO of The Maxol Group, commented; “This is a great opportunity for Maxol to grow and increase its brand awareness in the Limerick region, building on the flourishing business long established by Tom and his family."
“We have plans, this year, to invest in new site facilities with Centra and to provide new car washes,” he added.
Tom Chawke welcomed the acquisition by a well-respected company like Maxol, saying; “It is never easy to retire from a business and one which the Chawke family have enjoyed so much; leaving it in the safe hands of Maxol, makes it a little easier.”
New Maxol licensee and manager Tom Duggan explained that he intends to keep on the existing staff and said; “I am looking forward to the new opportunity of running my own business and in continuing to serve the local community with the high standards that customers expect at Chawkes.”
