Maxol has announced a partnership with Dundalk Institute of Technology as part of the institute's Global Student Project 2015. Students from the marketing department will assist in ensuring that Maxol's new service station opposite the college campus will serve the needs of students and other local consumers.
In a cross college collaboration project, DKIT students will join with US and Australian students to develop and app for Maxol's Moreish café and deli. The app will be tested by DKIT students and staff, with the plan to extend its use across thirty Moreish cafes set be open by the end of 2015.
Maxol CEO, Tom Noonan commented, "This is a terrific opportunity for Maxol to get real input from a group of young people starting out on the road to exciting marketing careers. Our new outlet in Dundalk will contain all that is best in forecourt retailing but, we want to make sure that we appeal to the large young customer base that will be literally right on our doorstep."
The Global Student Project brings together students from Ireland, the USA and Australia to work on a commercial project. The project uses easily accessible communications technology such as Skype and Google Hangout to create round-the-clock international collaboration. The project will run for 12 weeks, with the final presentation bringing all teams to the Dundalk campus in May 2015.
