Nearby has opened its 150th store in Ireland – O’Halloran’s Nearby Oola in County Limerick – with a weekend full of celebrations, music and deals for the local community.
During the celebrations, a customer discovered they had purchased a winning lotto ticket at the store, taking home €1 million.
Store owner Tom O’Halloran said of the development, “We couldn’t believe our luck, let alone the customer’s luck – things like this don’t happen here!
“A winning ticket sold here on the official day of our opening, you just couldn’t write it.”
O’Halloran concluded, “We are over the moon and wish our new millionaire every success. We hope they still stop by.”
As part of the celebrations, live music played and giveaways were organised by the Limerick Live 95fm Shadow Team.
Free goodie bags were available for customers, full of treats and an opportunity for customers to ‘spin the Nearby wheel’ for a chance to win spot prizes.
The new store also had deals on a number of household essentials and groceries to welcome customers to the new premises.
