NIQ Ireland Launches Omnisales Solution

NIQ has today launched an industry-first Omnisales solution in Ireland, providing clients full view coverage of online and in-store sales.

This is an important milestone for NIQ since its December 2021 acquisition of Foxintelligence contributed to previous major investments in omnichannel.

Covering 34 FMCG e-retailers in Ireland, NIQ’s new solution offers a first-of-its-kind full view of online and offline marketing trends.

The Omnisales tool will provide clients with a fully comprehensive sales measurement tool.

As a leading authority in consumer intelligence, NIQ’s new Omnisales product integrates and harmonises NIQ’s substantial data assets across point-of-sales (POS) retail measurement data and Foxintelligence’s crowdsourced online purchase data.

The latter is based on the biggest e-shopper panel (2.5 million panellists) across ten European markets.

It is the largest GDPR compliant panel in Europe with the panel size in Ireland is just exceeding 60,000.

Together, these data sets produce the most robust omnichannel and total market share numbers in the industry.

Omnisales allows clients to unlock a complete and true picture of market size and trends, understand differences between online versus offline, analyse the different online channels and learn the key drivers of category, segment and brand sales trends.

‘Shine A Light On Blind Spots’

Speaking about the new solution, NIQ’s country manager for Ireland David Berry said, “Omnisales will shine a light on blind spots for clients allowing them to respond to shoppers needs with a truly Omnichannel approach.

“Omnisales represents a steep change in NIQ’s product offering in Ireland. It’s a unique, full view which hasn’t existed before.

“This unique methodology will allow us to measure e-commerce sales from an additional 32 retailers.

“We measure the online channel to be valued at almost €1 billion, accounting for 7.7% of overall FMCG spend in Ireland.

“Already we are seeing how unique the online space is, how categories such as skincare, cosmetics and pet food overtrade online.

“Some 53% of all online sales occur outside of our traditional supermarkets, highlighting how diverse online shopping has become.

“Omnisales will allow our clients to adapt and tailor their strategy by category in both the online and offline channels.”
