Tesco will stock 58 stores with new liquid whole egg and liquid egg white products from Cavan based free-range egg supplier O’Egg.
The order follows a €1.5m investment in new product development at the firm. O’Egg is Ireland’s largest free-range egg supplier, working with 27 egg producers and employing 31 people.
Managing Director Margaret Farrelly said: “We have always been innovative in our approach, and have focused investments on ensuring that we deliver the best possible product to our customers.
“The Tesco order is an important milestone for O’Egg. It marks a vote of confidence in us as a company as well as our products. Liquid egg is a totally new concept for Ireland’s supermarkets and is an innovative way for us to add value to what is ultimately a commodity product.” O’Egg liquid whole egg and liquid egg white is also available from Centra and SuperValu stores nationwide.
