O’Gorman's of Castledermot, Co. Kildare was awarded the ‘Star Shop of the Year’ by the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland (ACBI). This is the second time O’Gorman's has won at the Food & Hospitality event, held in the RDS this week. The store also claimed the prize for Best Rural Shop, while Best High Street Shop went to Lawlor’s of Rathmines, Dublin. Meanwhile, Kerrigans of Donaghmede secured the Best Shopping Centre award.
The ACBI held the Sausage & Pudding Competition Nation Finals yesterday, awarding the top prize of Supreme Champion to Adrian Sheerin of Ballymote, along with the Speciality Sausage prize. Tommy Doherty from Kells won the Traditional Sausage and the White Pudding categories, and David O’Malley of Tipperary town took home the Black Pudding prize.
Food & Hospitality Ireland incorporating SHOP is running from Wednesday 18th to Thurthsday 19th September at the RDS, Dublin.
