Members of the public are invited to a take part in a meeting on the 20th of April to discuss ‘why they do or don’t shop’ in Tralee town centre and nearby Manor West Retail Park.
The event will be led by retail members of Tralee Chamber Alliance along with the Insitute of Technology Tralee, and will focus on identifying the need and wants of shoppers with the aim of making Tralee the ‘retail capital of the southwest.’
Kieran Ruttledge, CEO of Tralee Chamber Alliance explained, “Tralee has so much to offer in the Town Centre and Manor but we are not reaching our full potential as a shopping centre. We need to find out why that is the case.
“This will not be a talking-shop and no retailers will be present at the Forum, in the interest of ensuring that the participants will take part in the initiative to gather honest information to help move the town forward in the right direction,” he added Kieran Ruttledge.
Retailers will later analyse the feedback at a number of meetings, followed by the publication of a Retail Strategy incorporating proposals to showcase Tralee as a major shopping town.
Breda O’Dwyer, Manager at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (CEED) at the Institute of Technology Tralee will chair the meeting, which will be held between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at the Ashe Hotel, Tralee.
