Quintain has announced that Centra has agreed to become the anchor tenant for the retail centre in St Marnock’s Bay housing development, in Portmarnock.
Ian Allen, managing director, SuperValu and Centra, said, “We will be making a significant investment in this store, to deliver a brand-new, state-of-the-art Centra for the local community to enjoy.
“At Centra, we are committed to supporting local communities around the country, and this presents a great opportunity for us to join the growing community in Portmarnock,” Allen added.
Looking Ahead
According to the developer, overall, it is planning to build approximately 1,200 residential units within the development.
To date, 270 homes have been built, with an additional 133 homes to be completed by the end of this year, the company noted.
Planning has been lodged for the next phase of 172 homes, together with a new public park, it added.
Michael Hynes, joint managing director, Quintain Ireland, said, “The development of the Portmarnock land bank is progressing at pace and providing an excellent mix of traditional-style two-, three- and four-bedroom houses in a prime location in Portmarnock, adjoining the DART station.
“The sales launch of a further phase of the development will commence in Q2 2022,” Hynes added.
Quintain Ireland noted that the retail centre should be completed by the end of this year.
The units will be let by Savills, it added.
