Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) has appointed Seán Murphy to the newly created role of Deputy CEO.
As part of his role, Murphy will concentrate on further enhancing REI’s representational and public affairs outputs with a view to ensuring the concerns of the retail industry are placed front and centre with Government, the Oireachtas, the public service and other related stakeholders.
“I have always admired Seán’s ability and professionalism," said David Fitzsimons, REI chief executive. "He is very well respected in Government and other circles and is a significant addition to REI. I am delighted that Seán has joined the REI team and look forward to introducing him to our members over the coming months”.
Murphy joins REI following almost ten years working with Chambers Ireland representing the Chamber of Commerce network. He also worked in the technology industry for seven years, completing client assignments and postings in the USA (a 2.5 year stint in Silicon Valley), France, Britain and around Ireland.
He holds an honours MA in Politics from UCD; a Certificate in Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley’s Extension School, and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Irish Management Institute.
