Retail groups including RGDATA and Retail Excellence Ireland, and industry bodies ISME and IBEC will present before the Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation later today to discuss the National Minimum Wage Bill.
The meetings form part of the pre-legislative scrutiny of the General Scheme of the National Minimum Wage (Low Pay Commission) Bill 2015.
“The National Minimum Wage (Low Pay Commission) Bill 2015 is intended to establish a Low Pay Commission as an independent body that will advise the Government on any appropriate changes to the minimum wage," said Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy, TD.
"We are looking forward to hearing from a wide variety of interested parties and organisations and carrying out detailed consideration and pre-legislative scrutiny of the Bill.”
There are three sessions scheduled for today, the first of which commences at 1.30pm.
