Just weeks after confirming former Tesco Czech Republic boss Robert Pitt as its new chief executive, Independent News & Media has hired another former Tesco executive for a senior managerial position.
Ryan Preston, the current Group Finance Director, Europe at Tesco, has been named as the newspaper group's new Group Chief Financial Officer, to replace outgoing CFO Eamonn O'Kennedy.
Belfast native Preston has held a multitude of roles within Tesco since joining the retailer in 2003; including Finance Director, Distribution and Supply Chain; Finance Director, Ireland North and South and Finance Director, Central Europe and Turkey.
Commenting on the new appointment, Leslie Buckley, INM chairman said, "“I am delighted we are in a position to attract someone of Ryan’s calibre to INM. His appointment follows an extensive recruitment process, via an independent recruitment firm."
