SFA Criticises Planned Easter Weekend Luas Strike

Chairman of the Small Firms Association (SFA), AJ Noonan has criticised plans for another Luas strike due to take place over the Easter weekend.

Noting that the commemorative events set to take place in Dublin in honour of the 1916 Rising should be accessible to all, he said, “They represent a fantastic opportunity for businesses in the city centre.

"The festival spirit must not be dampened by Luas drivers seeking outrageous pay increases."

He went on to say that unless the drivers bring their pay expectations "in line with what is happening in the economy", resolving the ongoing dispute will be impossible.

"On behalf of the thousands of small businesses whose employees and customers will be affected by the dispute, I call on SIPTU workers to call off the strikes," he concluded.
