The Dublin North West Division of the Mandate Trade Union held solidarity events in support of Dunnes Stores Workers on the 27th of March.
The events took place in Clondalkin, Lucan and Liffey Valley ahead of the strike planned for the 2nd of April by Dunnes Stores Workers against the retailer’s refusal to meet with union representatives.
Dunnes Stores workers have been looking for a number of issues to be discussed, including the implementation of banded-hour contracts and a review of Dunne Stores’ use of temporary contracts.
In a statement, Mandate’s Dublin North West Division said that “public support for the workers was fantastic,” and thanked Councillors Eoin Ó Broin, Ruth Nolan and Gino Kenny for their show of support.
