Fair City's Spar Carrigstown made a return to TV screens on Sunday 6 September, following an unprecedented five months off air due to filming restrictions arising from COVID-19.
The return of the Irish soaps's production team has seen RTÉ implement new procedures and systems to its working safely on site protocols, developed in line with HSE guidelines and Government recommendations on COVID-19.
Fair City viewers will see new stories and dramas unfold as the programme will reflect life in Ireland with COVID-19, the retail group said.
Safety Measures
Working behind the scenes for a number of weeks, the BWG Retail Development Team said that it has ensured Spar Carrigstown has been fitted out with Perspex screens, floor vinyls and COVID-19 in-store signage reflective of the high health and safety standards seen in Spar stores across the country.
The team were keen that SPAR Carrigstown would not only portray the reality of the current retail climate in Ireland but would also contribute to RTÉ’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of the actors, writers, directors and crew, it added.
Fair City returns to screens on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursdays nights on RTÉ One at 8pm.
