Spar Lower Street Abbey celebrated its official launch with a surprise gig featuring Irish band Keywest yesterday afternoon.
The live session took place between 12:30pm and 2pm as the grand finale following three days of festivities to launch the shop’s official opening.
Members of the My Spar Rewards Club scheme were invited to take part in a ‘Grab a Grand’ competition, giving them the chance to go home €1000 richer.
Meanwhile, The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght was a winner on the day too with Keywest’s lead guitarist, James Lock nabbing them €670 when he tried to ‘Grab a Grand’.
Speaking at the opening, Alan Dickenson, Spar Lower Abbey Street retailer commented, “We are really looking forward to welcoming customers into SPAR Lower Abbey Street. This is an exciting time for us, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase all that the store has to offer.”
Willie O’Byrne, Managing Director, BWG Foods said, “I would like to officially welcome Alan and all the team at Spar Lower Abbey Street to the SPAR family. The store has a lot of fantastic offerings, which will no doubt bring about a very strong customer loyalty base.”
