Convenience retailer Spar has opened a new store in Galway’s picturesque seaside resort, Salthill, situated on the northern shore of Galway Bay.
Spar Salthill is a bright and contemporary new store that marries convenience with an expanded grocery range and food-to-go offering, and is owned and operated by husband and wife Terry and Ellen Mannion and their business partner, Kevin Kearney.
'Summer Starts at Spar'
The new location aims to provide an abundance of fresh, locally sourced produce, and a wide array of various treats to entice locals and holidayers alike, the retailer said.
The new store ties nicely into the retailer's new summer campaign, 'Summer Starts at Spar'.
The campaign aims to make the convenience retailer the go-to destination for all customer's needs during this year’s anticipated staycation season.
The new outlet in Salthill opened its doors for the first time this week and currently provides employment to 15 people locally.
Colin Donnelly, Spar sales director, said, “We are delighted to support Ellen, Terry, and Kevin in this exciting new Spar store in the heart of Salthill. SPAR is committed as a business to supporting entrepreneurs and I am confident that this new Spar store will offer customers an enhanced shopping experience and that it will be a terrific addition to Salthill.”
The chain first came to Ireland in 1963 and currently operates close to 500 stores, with a presence in every county across the Republic of Ireland.
