SuperValu and Centra excelled at this year’s Great Taste Awards, taking home a total of 116 awards – the highest number of wins among Irish retailers – from the ceremony on 30 July.
This accomplishment highlights the outstanding taste and high quality of their premium and own-brand ranges of products.
The wins mark a significant achievement for both brands’ commitment to supporting Irish producers, whose dedication, innovation and craftsmanship contribute to the exceptional quality of their products.
Of the 116 awards, 74 are for proudly Irish products, thus highlighting SuperValu and Centra’s commitment to promoting and celebrating local and Irish.
Both retailers have a long-standing tradition of supporting local Irish suppliers, including some of this year’s winners, such as Cork-based dairy provider Clóna Dairy, the Cavan ice-cream experts at Ice Cream Treats, and Dunn’s of Dublin – Dublin’s oldest fishing company, established in 1822.
The Happy Pear, exclusively available in SuperValu and Centra stores, won a total of ten awards, including one for the Happy Pear Lovely Basil Pesto, which won a two-star award for the second year in a row.
SuperValu’s premium Signature Tastes range picked up 60 awards, while the Inspired by Centra range garnered 17 awards.
