SuperValu has launched Ireland’s first ‘drive through’ shopping service at the Carrigaline store in Co. Cork, enabling customers to order online and collect their items from a drive through bay.
The service is an addition to SuperValu’s existing online shopping options of home delivery and in-store collection.
After ordering online, customers using the new service will press an intercom button at the drive through, give their name and order reference number, and a member of staff will bring out their shopping and load it into the car.
“This is the first of its kind in Ireland and we hope to roll this out to a number of stores by the end of the year," said Martin Kelleher, Managing Director of SuperValu. "We realise that many of our customers have a very busy lifestyle or may find it difficult to come in-store, and this convenient service will save them time and effort when it comes to doing the necessary weekly shop.”
