SuperValu has announced it will sell around €25 million worth of Irish potatoes nationwide in its stores this year. The retailer is the largest purchaser of Irish potatoes in the State, and sources approximately 20,000 tonnes of potatoes from growers in Dublin, Cork, Meath, Louth, Kildare, Donegal, Carlow, Wicklow and Wexford each year.
The first of the new season potato crop is currently on sale in SuperValu stores nationwide.

SuperValu spent approximately €75 million directly with local suppliers in 2012.
