SuperValu were the big winners at this year's The Great Taste Awards, taking home an impressive 41 awards. SuperValu were awarded the accolades for the SuperValu range, Signature Tastes and its range of exclusive Specially Sourced wines.
The Great Taste Awards organised by the Guild of Fine Food is the world’s largest blind-tasted food awards with over 400 judges including chefs, food critics and farmers taking part in this year’s competition.
The SuperValu Wheaten Soda Loaf produced by Genesis Crafty was awarded three stars; making it the highest ranked own-brand product by an Irish retailer. Among the other 41 SuperValu products which secured awards included its Signature Tastes Gubeen Cheese from the Traditional Cheese Company, its Signature Tastes Striploin Steak by Kepak Ltd, its Organic Honey from Healy’s Honey, its Signature Tastes Irish Applewood Smoked Salmon from Dunns Seafare Ltd, its Thick Cut Unsmoked Rashers from Carty Ltd, its Crème Fraiche from Clona Dairy Products and Nugan Estate King Valley Chardonnay from Nugan Wines.
