Tesco Ireland has been named Irish suppliers’ retailer of choice for engagement and collaboration for the eighth year in a row.
The result came to light in a new ‘Voice of the Supplier Report’ from Advantage Group UK and Ireland.
Advantage Group International’s All-Ireland Voice of the Supplier fieldwork took place in October and November 2023, with over 550 respondents from over 400 manufacturing businesses taking part.
In a highly competitive group of 16 retailers and wholesalers, Tesco Ireland achieved the highest engagement score when measured against four engagement drivers, partnership, execution, reputation and vision.
With 33 competencies covering all aspects of the relationship between customer and supplier, Tesco’s leadership position was consistent, with strengths recognised by their suppliers in areas such as building trust with counterpart business, having an effective category management process, integrating their e-commerce strategy and communicating their environmental, social and governance objectives.
'Vote Of Confidence'
Tesco Ireland’s commercial director Joe Manning said, “We are delighted to once again receive this vote of confidence from suppliers across Ireland through the independent survey from Advantage.
“Once again, we’ve been recognised by our supplier partners as the number one retailer to do business with.
“We take great care in the ways in which we collaborate and engage with our supplier partners and are always seeking new ways to improve that relationship.
“Our 1,000 plus network of suppliers are hugely important to our business, and it is heartening to know that they rate us so highly under these key competencies.”
