Tesco Ireland has opened a new store in Clonmagadden, Navan, Co. Meath, creating 23 new retail jobs for the area.
This is the retailer’s second store in Navan and its sixth store in Meath, boosting local employment to over 280.
Located at Cluain Adáin, Clonmagadden, the new Tesco store offers an extensive range of groceries, fresh produce, household items and more at competitive prices.
Tesco proudly offers customers 100% Irish Tesco own-label beef, pork, chicken, milk and eggs, as well as locally produced rapeseed oil from Newgrange Gold and chocolates made by Lir, in Navan.
In addition to this, Tesco Clubcard can unlock the best-value deals for customers through Clubcard Prices, Reward Partners and more, with the retailer encouraging new customers to sign up for a Clubcard today by downloading the Tesco app.
Local schoolchildren Tamy Akobo and Katie Poole – accompanied by their teachers, Patricia Kelly and Claire Dixon, from Navan Educate Together School – were VIP guests at the ribbon-cutting ceremony today.
Tamy, who is 11 years old, lives close to the new store and has been monitoring every stage of the construction process with great interest.
Speaking at the opening, Debbie Comiskey – who is the new store’s manager and has been with Tesco for over 15 years – said, “We have been working hard to prepare for opening our new store today and are looking forward to getting to know our new customers and becoming part of the local community in Clonmagadden.”

Through its Stronger Starts community strategy, Tesco supports children’s health at national and local levels.
In Navan, Tesco supports Scoil Naomh Eoin through Stronger Starts food, providing free fresh fruit and vegetables to children who need it most.
The retailer also supports community projects including Scoil Naomh Eoin, St Oliver Plunkett National School, and St Paul’s Primary School through its blue-token Community Fund, along with fundraising for its charity partner, Children’s Health Foundation, and donating surplus food each evening for redistribution.
