Tesco Ireland Opens New Store In Cookstown, Dublin

Tesco Ireland has opened a new store in Cookstown, Dublin 24, creating 13 new jobs for the area.

The new store brings the total number of Tesco stores around Ireland to 178, following the opening of the nearby Tallaght Village superstore in April.

Located at Cookstown Gateway View, on the Luas Red Line, the new store will offer an extensive range of fresh Irish produce and feature local suppliers, such as Granby Ltd and Mannings Bakery.

Customers can also enjoy an in-store bakery and coffee station.

The chief operating officer of Tesco Ireland, Geoff Byrne, said at the opening, “We are delighted to open the doors on this new store in Cookstown.

“It is part of our ongoing investment in stores in urban centres across Dublin and the rest of the country.

“We are happy to be joining this great community, and we are committed to ensuring that our new stores play a big part in these local communities in the future.”

The Cookstown location has modern features, including a DRS machine and fridges with doors, to save energy and promote sustainability.

‘Convenient And Enjoyable’

Cookstown store manager Paula Early said, “We are thrilled to open the doors of our new store in Cookstown.

“The shopping experience is designed to be both convenient and enjoyable, and we really look forward to welcoming our new customers.”

Tesco Ireland is a proud supporter of the communities that it serves.

To date, its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country, from GAA clubs to children’s charities.

Three local community groups will benefit from Tesco’s Community Fund, and these include St Mark’s Senior National School, Springfield; St Anne’s Primary School, Fettercairn; and Solas Chríost Primary School, Belgard.

St Mark’s Senior School and St Anne’s Primary School are also beneficiaries of Tesco’s Stronger Starts programme, which provides free weekly food packs containing fresh apples, potatoes, onions and carrots to families at risk of food insecurity.
