Tesco Ireland recently won eight awards at the World Steak Challenge 2024, highlighting the retailer’s excellence in beef production.
The recognitions highlight Tesco’s commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation in meat production.
Ireland’s number-two supermarket secured one gold for its rib-eye steak, produced by Kettyle Irish Foods.
It also took home three silver and four bronze awards for several of its Tesco Irish and Tesco Finest rib-eye, fillet and striploin steaks.
Tesco Ireland’s category director of fresh food, John Brennan, said of the wins, “We take great pride in the quality of the meat on offer in our stores, and it is wonderful to see such a wide selection of our steaks achieving accolades like this on a global stage.”
One hundred per cent (100%) of the own-label beef that Tesco Ireland sells is sourced from Irish farms.
Its dedication to provenance and sustainability ensures that its steaks are not only of exceptional quality, but they are also produced with respect for the environment and animal welfare.
In June of this year, Tesco Ireland also received several accolades at the prestigious Monde Selection Awards in Brussels.
For the first time, Tesco also won two Grand Gold Awards for its Tesco Finest Certified Irish Angus Rib-Eye Steak and its Tesco Finest Certified Irish Angus Rib-Eye Joint with Black Pepper and Irish Atlantic Sea Salt.
