BT has announced a new partnership with Tesco which will see free Wi-Fi access available to customers in selected stores. Customers can access the free Wi-Fi by selecting ‘Tesco Wi-Fi’ or ‘BT’ while in store.
Tesco Extra, Metro and superstores in Ireland will be rolled out with this free service. The service is expected to be rolled out to Express stores in the near future. The BT Wi-Fi service will allow customers to download their Clubcard vouchers, browse recipes and take advantage of offers available in store.
Geraldine Casey, Personnel & IT Director, Tesco Ireland, said, “So far, we have Wi-Fi enabled in 113 stores [...]. The introduction of this Wi-Fi service gives our customers fast and convenient access to product information, pricing & special offers in store. Tesco is currently the largest online retail in the country, with our grocery home service now reaching 86% of the population.”
