Tesco has introduced a limited edition rainbow rose to its Irish stores, to celebrate the first Valentine’s Day since the country became the first to legalize same-sex marriage by a popular vote.
The eye-catching rainbow rose will be on sale from tomorrow, Friday 12th of February, and will cost €2.50 each.
The rose’s petals have been coloured by splitting the stem and dipping each part in different coloured water, which is drawn up into the petals to form a multi-coloured rose.
Meanwhile, traditional red roses will be on sale from €2 for a single flower, to a dozen for €4, with a heart-shaped bouquet costing €15.
The retailer will also be stocking bouquets of a dozen Tesco finest* white luxury avalanche roses, as well as Tesco finest* rose and orchid and rose and lily bouquets, both for €25.
Tesco shoppers will also be able to choose from a wide range of chocolates, wine and dine-in offers at for Valentine’s day, with everything available from the 13th of February.
