Galway’s Paul Conroy was to the fore as Boyle’s Leanne Connolly was named a winner in the John West Féile Buy, Scan and Win competition with SuperValu, Boyle. Leanne won a €500 SuperValu shopping voucher and €1,000 for Boyle GAA Club. John West Féile Ambassador and Galway footballer Conroy made the trip to SuperValu, Boyle to the present the prizes.
Ardagh Group S.A., including Ardagh Metal Packaging S.A., (AMP) has been awarded its second consecutive platinum rating from sustainability ratings agency EcoVadis. AMP noted in a statement that it has set ambitious emissions, ecology and social commitments, science-based targets as well as aligning with specific UN Sustainable Development Goals positioning for a more equitable, inclusive and environmentally responsible future. “As a leader in sustainable metal packaging, AMP engages with a range of priority ESG ratings to review our performance and to ensure we deliver strong sustainability performance across our operating businesses,” said Susan Doyle-Kelly, Ardagh’s sustainability group reporting director. “We are delighted to receive this coveted Platinum rating for the second year in a row from EcoVadis, an important rating to our customers and stakeholders which confirms our sustainability commitments.”
REWE Group has placed a sustainability-linked bond (SLB) issue, with the repayment amount linked to sustainability goals achieved by REWE and Penny, reports ESMmagazine.com. The bond, worth €900 million and extending over a term of seven years, will help the company to achieve its GHG emissions reduction goals throughout the entire supply chain and support the necessary investments, the company added. REWE and Penny have committed to setting medium-term company-wide reduction targets in line with the net zero standards of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
