Just Eat Takeaway has announced a new partnership with frozen-food retailer Iceland, to offer delivery of groceries within 30 minutes across the UK, reports ESMmagazine.com. The service will launch by the end of April, with more than 200 Iceland stores in London, Manchester, Belfast and Leeds. It will be rolled out to more cities during the course of the year, Just Eat noted. Amy Heather, director of strategic accounts at Just Eat, stated, “Our partnership with Iceland is another big step in our grocery delivery journey in the UK, bringing even more convenient grocery options to our customers.”
The mood of British consumers is improving, the boss of home improvement retailer Kingfisher said on Tuesday, citing its own customer surveys, reports Reuters. “The worst results were September, October last year, but when we look at February 2023, we are, overall, back to January 2022 results, so we see a slightly improved consumer mood,” CEO Thierry Garnier told reporters. He was speaking after Kingfisher reported its 2022-23 results.
Rui Nabeiro, the founder of Portugal’s largest roasted-coffee retailer, Delta Cafés, and one of the country’s top entrepreneurs, has died at the age of 91, the company announced on Sunday. Nabeiro, who died in a hospital in Lisbon ‘due to breathing problems’, founded Delta Cafés in his home town of Campo Maior, Alentejo, in 1961, starting with a small warehouse that roasted only 30 kilos of coffee per day, reports Reuters. Nabeiro always reinvested the profits in innovation, to grow his family business, and Delta Cafés now roasts 100 tonnes of coffee daily.
