The William Jackson Food Group (WJFG) announced that it acquired the premium ingredients brand Belazu.
Belazu is the UK’s top-selling balsamic vinegar and premium olive oil brand that sells its products to Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Ocado.
The brand also has an international presence, operating across premium foodservice channels with high-quality authentic Mediterranean olives, antipasti, grains, pastes and vinegar.
Belazu employs around 160 people at its manufacturing facility in Greenford, Middlesex.
Premium Foodservice
“The strategic sale of Aunt Bessie’s earlier in the year has enabled us to redefine the group for the next phase of its growth,” CEO Norman Soutar said.
“We’ve been looking to enter the fast-growing premium segment of the foodservice channel and believe this acquisition, in addition to our purchase of Wellocks earlier in June, has really exciting potential for the future.
Soutar added that WJFG is delighted to be welcoming Belazu to the family, and called it an incredibly innovative business, revealing that the group has had its eyes on the business for a number of years.
