Revenue officers at Dublin Port seized 786 litres of wine yesterday (8 February) when a Transit van arriving from France via Holyhead was searched as part of a routine check.
The smuggled red and white wines have a retail value of around €11,000 and represent an estimated potential loss to the Exchequer of €5,400.
Revenue reports that investigations are on-going.
