Paschal Donohoe has announced that the Department of Agriculture is to get an extra €57 million in 2019, he revealed along with Ireland’s budget for 2019.
In what he described as a “responsible Budget” for a “modern and caring Ireland that aims to be at the centre of a changing world”, Donohoe invested long-term into the agriculture sector, acknowledging what has been a difficult year for farmers.
“I recognise that 2018 has been a difficult year for farmers. With that in mind, I am renewing the existing stock relief measures for a further three years,” he said.
