Just Eat Takeaway Sells US Unit Grubhub For $650m

Europe’s biggest meal delivery firm Just Eat Takeaway has said it has struck a deal to sell its US unit Grubhub to Wonder for $650 million.

Deliveroo has achieved the twin milestones of positive net profit and free cash flow in the first half as demand from customers stabilised.

Just Eat Takeaway reported a more than 40% jump in first-half core profit on Wednesday, led by its main European markets.

Just Eat Ireland will be pausing its Dublin delivery service for one hour on 29 June to encourage customers to go out and celebrate Pride.

Just Eat Takeaway has struck a deal to offer Amazon Prime members in Germany, Austria and Spain free delivery of food orders above €15.

Amazon informed customers on Thursday that they can now order from GrubHub directly on the shopping app and website.

Deliveroo has reported a return to order growth in its first quarter with a 2% increase year-on-year, it was reported this week.

Just Eat Takeaway reported its first-quarter orders below expectations on Wednesday, sending its shares down 5%.
