Londis Retailers Present €222,579 Donation To LauraLynn Hospice

Londis retailers have presented a €222,579 donation to close out its charity partnership with LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.

Re-turn – the operator of Ireland’s DRS – today announced 1 billion drinks containers returned by the public as part of the scheme.

Re-turn has reported more than 750 million drinks containers have been returned since the launch of the DRS on 1 February this year.

Cork Airport has launched the first reverse vending machines at a transport hub as part of the DRS under a pilot programme.

Re-turn has announced that 400 million plastic bottles and cans have been returned since the Deposit Return Scheme launched on 1 February.

Re-turn has called Electric Picnic attendees to donate their drinks containers to support for the charity initiative ‘Return for Children.’

Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) has experienced rapid adoption in its first six months of operation according to Re-turn.

Re-turn has reported that 300 million drinks containers have been returned in Ireland since the start of the DRS on 1 February 2024.
