UK Grocery Inflation Returns To Downward Trend – Kantar

UK grocery inflation edged lower this month, data from Kantar showed on Tuesday, after rising for the first time in 18 months a month prior.

Total Till sales at UK supermarkets grew 5.5% in the four weeks to 10 August 2024 according to new data from NIQ.

Ocado said on Monday that its US partner Kroger had placed an order for new automated technologies to roll out in its warehouses.

UK grocery inflation has fallen this month to its lowest level since September 2021, data from market researcher Kantar showed on Tuesday.

Online retailer Ocado lifted guidance on Tuesday, citing an improvement in the profitability of its warehouse technology business.

Ocado said on Monday that it had boosted its partnership with Japan’s Aeon with plans to build a third robotic warehouse.

Marks & Spencer is “not unhappy” with the current performance of Ocado Retail, according to the company’s charman Archie Norman.
