Pepco Says Poundland’s Sales Fall Worsened In Christmas Quarter

Pepco Group has said the performance of its struggling Poundland business in the UK deteriorated in the Christmas quarter.

Pepco Group reported an annual net loss of €662 million, citing a non-cash impairment charge of €775 million for its Poundland business.

Pepco Group has said its fourth-quarter underlying revenue was lower than the prior year, partly reflecting ongoing supply chain disruptions.

Pepco Group has reported a worse-than-expected 4.3% fall in third-quarter underlying revenue, due to supply chain issues in the Red Sea.

Pepco has reported a 28% rise in first-half core earnings, reflecting new store openings and an improved gross margin.

European discounter Pepco Group today reported a 2.5% fall in first-half same-store sales but said margins were recovering.
