DRS Reduced Plastic Waste But Failed To Impact Overall Litter Levels – IBAL

Ireland’s DRS reduced the number of drinks containers discarded but failed to impact overall litter levels, according to IBAL.

Re-turn has issued holiday tips as Irish consumers head into their first holiday season with the Deposit Return Scheme.

TOMRA Collection has released a new multi-feed reverse vending machine (RVM) in Ireland that allows over 100 returns at once.

Re-turn has reported more than 750 million drinks containers have been returned since the launch of the DRS on 1 February this year.

Some 635 million containers have been returned as part of the DRS, according to the Department of Environment, Climate, and Communications.

Lidl Ireland has become the first Irish retailer to hit 100 million returns as part of the Deposit Return Scheme, which launched 1 February.

Re-turn has announced that over 500 million drinks containers have been returned to the scheme since its launch on 1 February.
