Aldi’s has recently launched a free online wine course, Aldiploma.
Designed with wine expert Nadia El Ferdaoussi, this six-module course will teach you all there is to know about wine, from the basics on how to taste wine, right through to the finer points like grape varieties, tasting notes and production methods, the discounter said.
Covering still, sparkling, sweet and fortified wines, with this six module Aldiploma, users will learn everything you need to know how to choose your preferred bottle of wine to suit your budget, while learning which food pairings work best with your chosen grape, it added.
'Vast Knowledge'
El Ferdaoussi shares her vast knowledge of wine using easy to follow videos and downloadable guides, taking you through everything you need to know about grapes and grape vines.
Speaking about the Aldiploma launch, El Ferdaoussi said, "It's really important to me that wine is accessible, so sharing my knowledge through the Aldiploma to help Aldi's customers in the wine aisle is a pinch me moment."
"I can’t wait to see everyone completing the six Aldiploma modules and sharing their experience on social media – I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed filming it,” she said.
Landmark Moment
Aldiploma, Aldi’s free, six module wine course with wine expert, EL Ferdaoussi, is available to study now on the Aldi Ireland website.
Speaking about the launch of Aldiploma for Aldi Ireland, John Curtin, group buying director for Aldi Ireland, commented, “The launch of Aldiploma to the Irish market is a landmark moment for us in Aldi."
"We’ve always been extremely proud of our wine selections in store which offer a broad range of wines from all over the world, and to give our customers the opportunity to broaden their wine knowledge and explore new wines is something that we are extremely proud of," he added.
