Deliveroo Partners With Irish Grocers To Deliver Essential Items

Deliveroo has partnered with a number of with well-known Irish convenience stores to deliver groceries, so customers can shop locally without the need to leave the home, to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

Essential food and household items such as bread, milk, butter, dry and tinned goods, along with alcohol, are available to order via its app from over 21 convenience stores, which will be delivered in as little as under 30 minutes, the company said.

“Alongside our work with restaurants, we have been working hard with off-license partners such as Spar, Londis and Mace to make it easier for customers to get access to day-to-day food and household items quickly as they limit trips outdoors," said Michael Healy, general manager, Deliveroo Ireland.

All deliveries, will be contact-free, so its 1,000 riders do not hand deliveries over to customers, but leave them outside their door for collection, the food delivery firm said.
