Dunnes Stores Set To Roll-Out Grocery Delivery Service Next Month

Dunnes Stores is reportedly set to roll-out a grocery delivery service from October.

It has plans to offer the service nationwide but will initially focus on Dublin and surrounding counties, reports the Irish Times.

It is believed that the retailer is planning to put up to 70 dedicated home delivery trucks on the road as early as next month.

According to the Irish Times, rather than fulfilling grocery orders from a single shop or multiple shops, much of the new operation will centre on a dedicated fulfilment depot.

In July, the retailer launched an app – Dunnes Stores Cornelscourt, in collaboration with Flipdish, to allow customers to order food to be delivered from the company’s store in Cabinteely, Dublin 18.

The latest figures from Kantar show that Dunnes now holds the second highest grocery retail market share at 21.3%, during the 12 weeks to 6 September 2020.
