Dunnes Stores has teamed up with Buymie for a new online grocery delivery service.
Under the new partnership customers can now order groceries from 24 stores in Dublin and Cork for same day delivery.
Customers will be able to book delivery slots for as little as one hour or up to seven days in advance.
The online delivery service is available to over 592,000 households in Dublin and in large commuter towns such as Maynooth and Howth.
The service is also available to over 88,000 households in Cork city.
“Dunnes Stores is a tremendous innovator in Irish retail and we are delighted to be working with them to bring same-day delivery to their customers across Dublin and Cork," Devan Hughes, CEO and co-founder of Buymie said.
Access To Service
To access the service, users can download the Buymie app from the Apple iOS app store, or from the Google Play store onto a mobile device.
Once registered, customers can select to shop for groceries within the Dunnes online grocery store.
Buymie customers have no limitation on basket size, the company said.
'A personal shopper is then appointed, allowing for seamless communication during the shopping process, and ensuring the best substitutions and highest quality fresh produce are selected,' it added.
The latest figures from Kantar show that Dunnes now holds the second highest grocery retail market share at 21.3%, during the 12 weeks to 6 September 2020.
