To celebrate community and a love of home this St Patrick’s Day, SPAR has partnered with the Republic of Ireland women’s national football team captain, Katie McCabe, to create a video tribute to her hometown.
Set in Kilnamanagh, a small area in Tallaght, Dublin 24, the social-media video is a celebration of McCabe’s family, neighbours, local clubs, and the many people in her community who make it a place to which she loves returning, as often as possible, from her current home in London, the retailer explained.
Smiling Faces
The Irish captain recounts what community means to her and speaks fondly of the “smiling faces that greet her” on each visit home.
Commenting on the video to celebrate the national feast day and the extraordinary double bank holiday, Colin Donnelly, sales director of SPAR, said, “SPAR retailers are proud to serve the communities in which they are embedded, and Katie’s story speaks to communities across Ireland.
“People are what make each community personal and unique, and this specially commissioned video reflects the important role that SPAR retailers play in their respective communities, right across the country.”
Katie McCabe
As well as serving as captain of the Republic of Ireland women’s national football team, McCabe plays for FA WSL club Arsenal.
As a teenager, she won the Irish Women’s National League title twice, and the FAI Women’s Cup three times, with Raheny United before signing with Arsenal in 2015.
