Tesco Ireland has been upscaling its deliveries of grocery essentials in order to help customers weather through Storm Emma.
The retailer delivered more than 400,000 individual cases last night alone as part of 260 deliveries to its 149 stores nationwide.
A further 300 deliveries are due today and the retailer said it has increased its fresh fresh produce volume to cater for customer demand. More deliveries are due this afternoon and tomorrow.
Essentials
Tesco has also increased the availability of core grocery essentials including 20 per cent more bread, over 10 per cent more milk, fresh food and fuel which were delivered to stores this morning.
Several retailers across the country ran out of essentials such as sliced pans of bread, fruit and vegetables as the icy Siberian cold front descends on Ireland.
